Disney Star Wars Land

Disney World Orlando has plans to open Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The company released a more detailed timeline for the anticipated new lands. Disney World’s Star Wars land will open  in late fall 2019 and will debut in Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. c Two attractions had already been announced for the “Star Wars” lands. One ride puts visitors at the helm of the Millennium Falcon, and the other puts them in a battle of the First Order and the Resistance. A not-yet-built Star Wars-themed hotel will also be “seamlessly connected” to the land, the company has said.

It’s the latest of Orlando’s theme park wars as Disney, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld are all building new rides to compete and gain more visitors on the tourism corridor. Currently, much of Hollywood Studios is under construction as Disney sets to open Toy Story Land in June before Star Wars. Last year, Hollywood Studios was the only Disney theme park to drop in attendance. About 10.7 million guests visited the park in 2017, about 0.5 percent less than 2016, according to a new study by Themed Entertainment Association and the global management firm AECOM.

Some theme park analysts have said visitors may delay trips to Disney and Hollywood Studios this year as they wait for the Star Wars opening. Come check back soon for more Disney World theme Park updates!
